Setting Up or Modifying Your E-mail in Microsoft Outlook

This tutorial shows you how to set up and or modify Microsoft Outlook to work with your madriveraccess.net e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2003, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up other versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this tutorial.

Note: The text below in red are the only changes required if you have been asked to migrate to a new server by MadriverAccess staff.

To Set Up or Modify Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, select Tools > E-mail Accounts.
  2. For a new setup on the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select "Add a new e-mail account" and click Next.
  3. For a new setup for your server type, select "POP3" or IMAP and click Next.
  4. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as follows:
  5. Your Name
    Enter your first and last name.
    E-mail Address
    Enter your e-mail address.
    User Name
    Enter your e-mail address, again.
    Password
    Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account.
    For a new setup or to modify your existing setup
    Incoming mail server (POP3 - OR - IMAP)
    Enter MAIL.MADRIVERACCESS.NET for your incoming mail server.
    For a new setup or to modify your existing setup
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
    Enter MAIL.MADRIVERACCESS.NET for your outgoing mail server.

    Click "More Settings."

  6. On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
  7. Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
  8. Select "Use same settings asmy incoming mail server".
  9. (Optional) Select the "Advanced" tab and change the "Outgoing server (SMTP)" port to 587.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click Finish.
